Adani’s Recent Rise In Capacity In The Renewable Energy Sector:
Adani Green Energy Limited which happens to be the renewable energy wing of the Adani Group has recently operationalised 692.6 MW of renewable energy projects at Khavda, Gujarat. This was done through the group’s wholly-owned step-down subsidiary. This latest addition to the group’s renewable energy capacity involves 480.1 MW of solar and wind power plants. These power plants were commissioned recently.
A 212.5 MW capacity of the solar project was also commissioned by Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited which further added to the group’s capacity. With the recent developments made in the renewable energy sector, the Adani Group’s total renewable energy generation capacity has reached 14, 217.9 MW. The company has mentioned that its decision to operationalise the project was made following necessary clearances and regulatory approvals. The power generation will commence from this project shortly.
The newly commissioned projects involve wind and solar power plants under various subsidiaries. Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Six Limited has operationalised a 125 MW solar power project while Adani Renewable Energy Forty One Limited has operationalised a 65.6 MW wind project. Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Seven Limited has also recently commissioned a 37.5 MW solar project. Adani Green Energy Twenty-Four Limited has also added 52 MW of wind capacity while Adani Green Energy Twenty-Four A Limited has operationalised a 200 MW solar power project.
The recent addition of renewable energy capacity has helped the company reach one step ahead towards the fulfilment of its sustainability goals. The global business group has also ensured that the company’s global energy demands are met from renewable energy slowly. Other Developments Being Made In The Renewable Energy Sector:
The Adani Group is currently in the process of developing the largest renewable park of 30 GW at Khavda in Gujarat. This renewable energy park spans 538 square km. This project is so big that it is 5 times the size of Paris. Once it achieves completion, it is going to become the largest renewable energy park in the entire world. It will also attend to the growing energy demands in the country.
In a separate development, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Limited which happens to be a wholly owned subsidiary of AGEL will supply 400 MW of solar power to Uttar Pradesh for a span of 25 years. The company has recently received the contract award letter from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for power procurement from a grid-connected solar project in Rajasthan. This will be at the tariff of INR 2.75 per kilowatt hour.
As per sources, Adani Green Energy is also currently in the process of developing a 500 MW solar power park in Bhadla, Jodhpur and a 1,500 MW solar park in Fatehgarh, Jamshedpur. The Fatehgarh solar park is spread across 9,981 acres. It is going to have a total capacity of 1,500 MW. This makes the Adani Group one of the largest players in the country’s renewable energy sector. Currently, the global business group is also in the process of trying to increase its footprint abroad. This will further give a boost to the group’s business and will allow it to reach new heights.
